An illustrated anthology observing life in Highbury Stadium Square during the London Lock Down. Here you can find everything you need to know about the book published December 2020. We opened pre-sale and crowdfunding the 3rd of August to help us with the production costs. We made over 100 sales and are happy to share that we covered the cost of printing and binding the book.
Cecilie Maurud Barstad live in Highbury Stadium Square. Since March, she has been observing and drawing her neighbours and the life inside these four stands surrounding the old pitch ground for Arsenal Football Club. One drawing became two. Days floated into weeks and months later she had created nearly a hundred drawings and 60 short stories.
You can see a selection of the drawings here. The book is published December 2020 by Ansten Press.
The book was printed in November at ETN Grafisk in Skien, Norway. Offset printing on high quality paper. 160 pages of colourful illustrations and 60 short stories written and drawn between March and July in Highbury Stadium Square in London. Our little team went to oversee the print start. I went with designer and publisher Nina Ansten and photographer Charlotte Wiig that documented the visit. Every detail is important and Nina is looking close at each print sheet to make sure the colours align. Each print sheet has 32 pages printed on it. The sheet is folded into one section. We have a very limited edition print sheets available for sale in our webshop here.
